Financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) / Directorate General of IC with the University of Bologna and implemented by its Center for Advanced Studies in Tourism (CAST) and the residential University Center of Bertinoro (Ce.U.B.).
To promote a sustainable and responsible development of Tourism in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar through University training experience in Italy.
The expansion of the Tourism sector, which is considered a strategic sector in terms of both employment and contribution to national GDP, could be achieved not only through investments in the infrastructures and technology necessary to enhance the use of hospitality services and transport, but also by undertaking wide-ranging capacity building. This project aims specifically at implementing a training program targeted at officials belonging to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism (MoHT), at experts in the private sector who already have experience in the field of Tourism and wish to specialize in Tourism development, and at University professors teaching in the Myanmar Universities.
In line with the goals of the Myanmar Tourism Master Plan 2013-2020, the Advanced Training Course in Tourism Development will provide high-level skills connected with the Tourism industry, create a network of knowledge and favor spillover effects among participants, and therefore will enable candidates to exploit all the tangible and intangible assets at their disposal once they return to their homeland, by providing them with a training program that combines a broad scope of theory and application.
