For the year 2022 we announce the 32nd ISHS Conference, to be held in Bertinoro, Italy.
Be serious about being funny about being serious and submit an abstract. Or just come along and listen.
The annual ISHS conference that will be held at the University of Bologna’s Summer Residence at Bertinoro, Italy is scheduled from
29 June to 2 July, 2022.
The conference aims at a representative overview of the state of the art in the scientific study of humor; it offers three days — or even five if you want to start on June 27 and take an extra couple of days to indulge in local food, wine and culture before the conference begins. Come network with humor scholars from a wide variety of disciplines in a medieval hamlet with breathtaking landscapes and enjoy Italy, with its rich offer of historic, artistic and culinary possibilities. Bertinoro itself is a culinary and cultural treasure with numerous small family owned restaurants, cafes, and bars throughout the town.

Daily Rate €100 – access to all academics sessions, coffee, refreshments and lunch

Registration fee includes:
- access to all academic sessions
- lunches Wednesday to Saturday

- closing banquet
Accommodation

When you register, you can also reserve a room at the conference venue.
All the rooms are provided with telephone, bathroom, TV and free wifi.
The conference will start on the morning of June 29 and finish late morning of July 2. You can book a room just for the 4 nights of the conference (Tuesday to Friday) or from Sunday June 26th and participate in wine-tasting, a daytrip and workshops (see pdf for details).
Rates:
– single room: 52 € (bed and breakfast) per person, per day;
– double room: 42 € (bed and breakfast) per person, per day.
N.B.:
–ACCOMMODATION SHOULD BE PAID IN ADVANCE, TOGETHER WITH THE REGISTRATION or SEPARATELY.
– if you choose a double room, please specify in the field note your roommate.
Cancellation
Cancellations made before 30TH March will receive a full refund less 15% (administration fee). Cancellations made from 30th March to 30th May will receive 50% refund less 15% administration fee. No refunds will be granted after that.
